XXXI HLM: "From Promise to Impact: Implementing the Pact of the Future and COP29 Commitments"

The 31st High-Level Meeting held in Geneva, Switzerland, was organized in partnership with the UN Geneva Office.
The meeting, which took place on January 16–17, brought together more than 40 distinguished leaders. Over 25 former heads of state and government representing more than 25 countries, as well as heads of international organizations, participated in the meeting.
The opening ceremony featured speeches by the Center’s Co-Chair, H.E. Vaira Viķe-Freiberga; Director-General of the UN Office at Geneva, Ms. Tatiana Valovaya; Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus; Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union, Ms. Doreen Bogdan-Martin; COP29 President, H.E. Mukhtar Babayev; and former President of Finland, H.E. Tarja Halonen.
The meeting also addressed global topics such as “Financing SDGs in Developing Countries,” “COP29: From Pledge to Progress,” and “Health and Climate Change: Applying Green Digital Action.” Additionally, it served as a preparatory step for the upcoming 12th Global Baku Forum.
It should be noted that this was the fourth meeting jointly organized by the Center and the UN Geneva Office.
